Need financial help? Plenty of Resources Are Available.

This pandemic is taking its’ toll on all of us. I know I have a permanent ache in the pit of my stomach, thanks to my anxiety. Do you? When will this be over, and when will we be able to go back to school and work again?

There are so many unanswered questions! In the meantime, since this has dragged on for so long, your emergency resources may be stretched thin. Are you in need of help right now? If so, please look into some of the options I mention in this post. Do not let pride stand in your way. It is okay to need help.

We have many resources available to us. The Government is attuned to the severity of this pandemic and has put additional programs in place to help assist us during this time. Last week, there was a terrific article printed on CNN’s website (a blogger friend, http://janbunten.com/ referred me to it) that you might want to read.

Covid-19 Pandemic

Here is the link: https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/16/success/cant-pay-rent-bills-help-coronavirus/index.html The article points you to where to get help if you cannot pay your mortgage, rent, utilities and much more.

There’s help everywhere, but you need to look or ask for it. By now, everyone eligible should have received a stimulus check. If not, you can review your check status here: https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment.

We filed our 2020 taxes on April 12th and were shocked to receive our stimulus check, via direct deposit, on April 15th!

There have been changes made to Unemployment Insurance. If you have collected Unemployment in the past year you may be eligible for an additional 13-weeks of payment. Go to this website for details: https://www.labor.ny.gov/unemploymentassistance.shtm

If you find yourself currently unemployed and unable to feed your family properly, look into the changes made to Government-assisted food programs due to the Coronavirus. Information on assistance available and how to apply can be found here: https://www.usa.gov/food-help. Also, many local churches have food banks. You can call the parish rectory to learn their specific hours of operation.

Will we ever return to “normalcy?” I put that word in quotes because I do not believe we will get back to normal. I think we all need to be ready to start over and adapt to a new normal. We will all be looking to Outwit Life! There will be life pre-pandemic and life post-pandemic. So many things are going to change! Hopefully, many for the better.

Until then, please keep your distance, wash your hands and stay healthy.
