Do you create goal lists that contain tasks outside of your reach? I do, so I decided to learn how to craft a unique yet feasible summer bucket list. Sounds simple enough, right?
My main bucket list is in the note section of my phone. I would need to win Lotto to accomplish most of the tasks on that list. Eight of the eleven tasks listed involve travel. I have been to enough seminars and self-help talks to know that starting small with something like this is best. So, I decided to craft a seasonal list instead. Everything I come up with will be doable this summer.
If you need a little jump-start to get your mind going, here’s a list of 250 bucket list ideas: https://trulyexperiences.com/blog/bucket-list-ideas/. Or, you can Google “bucket lists” for other ideas.
The effect of creating a bucket list is invigorating! It is a compilation of your dreams. Do you know how many people never allow themselves to dream? Pat yourself on the back if you create a bucket list. It will not only motivate you but the ones around you. It will change your legacy as you check different items off your list. Think of how much more interesting you will be!
Do you know that there is a spot in America where you can position your body in 4 different states at once? How fun! My daughter educated me on this one.
There are communities of people that unite over bucket lists. http://Bucketlist.org and http://bucketlist.net are two popular websites. They are worth taking a peek at; I was surprised by what I saw. There is no shortage of people making bucket lists!
There are some commonalities in bucket lists. According to the http://bucketlist.net website, here are the top ten bucket list ideas:
How many of these have you already done? Do any of these ideas entice you? I would love to see the Northern Lights and swim with dolphins. Mike and I have already visited the Grand Canyon, bought multiple houses, been on a cruise, and obviously, got married! My daughter skydived, which is as close as I’ll ever get to that task!
I put a little twist on the summer bucket list I created. Mine focuses on self-care; it’s a bit of a selfish bucket list. My husband and I need to compile another one for both of us. Below is what I’d like to accomplish this summer.
What do you think of my summer bucket list? Is there anything on my list you would like to add to your list? Do you have a summer bucket list? Have I tempted you enough to create one? It’s good for you to treat yourself to the items on your bucket list. You can never be too kind to yourself.
Checking items off my bucket list is thrilling for me! Having fought cancer, every day is a gift to me. God didn’t save me to sit on my couch all day. I need to be exploring and showing others how they can outwit life every chance I get.
Please let me know in the comment section below if I’ve said anything that resonates with you today. I’d also love to hear if you’ve already checked a few items off your bucket list!
Do you handle change graciously, or does it put you in a spiral? Why does…
